Searching for a Scottsdale Realtor
As a part of your search for a competent Scottsdale Realtor, you should consider the qualifications and experience of your real estate partner….Partner? I thought all Scottsdale Realtor ‘s were the same? And who said anything about a partner?................. NOT SO…
As your Scottsdale Realtor, I am more than “just another Scottsdale Realtor”.........How?
First and foremost, I have over 34 years of “fulltime” real estate experience.. What I am saying here is that my entire professional life has been in some form of real estate. For me , real estate in Scottsdale is a career, not a part time indulgence only when the market is good or a friend calls wanting help with Scottsdale real estate. While there are many choices for Scottsdale Realtor ‘s, there are very few of us that have survived the good as well as the bad times.
A very good question...and here is why you need me as your Scottsdale Realtor.
I was first licensed as a Realtor in 1978. After graduating from college with a B.S., I needed to support myself to attend Graduate School. Real Estate was my way to do this.
Successfully going to Graduate School and maintaining a real estate career at the same time was a challenge, but I quickly learned the necessity to manage time and communicate with my clients.
At the ripe age of 24, I completed a large land transaction that now is known as Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station Texas. A 2,300 acre development that was completed by using my skills as a negotiator while being directed by those in my life that I honor as my mentors.
In 1980, I moved my license to a company known as Brazosland Realty Services and worked under the guidance of 3 gentlemen that were involved in development, land syndication and residential brokerage. We had the best of all worlds with our diversity of experience and synergy.
In 1985, I accepted a position at Stanford Associates and Metro Properties to oversee their real estate sales operations. We successfully completed and marketed numerous real estate transactions across the country including condominium conversions, apartments, retail centers, office buildings and residential subdivisions.
The Darlington Apartments in Atlanta Georgia, was one of our more visible projects.

So what makes me better?

The “Metro Centre” was another successful project completed during the days of “Stanford Real Estate Investments”.
In 1986 the economy took a downward turn and I purchased Stanford Real Estate Investments from my longtime mentor Don Martell.
In 1987, Stanford Real Estate Investments was merged with Marvin Tate Realty and we formed “Texas Heritage Realtors”. In 1989 , we purchased a “RE/Max” franchise and came to be known as “RE/Max Texas Heritage Realtors”. RE/Max Texas Heritage Realtors is a full service real estate company now known as RE/Max Select.
With diverse backgrounds, myself, my 4 partners , and our 33 outstanding agents captured a significant portion of the Bryan-College Station Real Estate Market. All the while, we involved ourselves professionally as leaders in the real estate community. Myself and 3 of my partners were all honored by our peers as “Realtor of the Year” in various years as well has holding leadership roles in the “Bryan-College Station Association of Realtors”, the “Texas Association of Realtors” and the “National Association of Realtors”.
In 1988, the economy still in dire straits, I secured a 66 million dollar marketing contract with the RTC to market property all across the state of Texas. The properties varied from bank buildings, to retail centers, to investment properties, to apartments, to storage units. With my background in development, syndication, brokerage and tax law, it was a successful combination resulting in the disposition of all of the properties.
In 1996, I embarked into the public storage business, owning, developing and operating a 160,000 square foot project in Sugarland Texas.

The 90’s
In 1992, while continuing to own and operate “RE/Max Texas Heritage Realtors” my role as a principal began with the acquisition of strip retail property and raw land. The strip retail property was successfully converted to a thriving neighborhood center and the raw land, a 17 acre commercial/multi-family parcel was developed into an apartment project , a 2 acre successful convenience store and a city library that was tastefully incorporated into the development. In 1996, I embarked into the public storage business, owning, developing and operating a 160,000 square foot project in Sugarland Texas.
In 1996 I also developed a parcel into the offices of West, Webb, Albritton and Gentry.
The partners later purchased the property.
In 1999, all the while continuing my real estate brokerage activity, I needed a new
venture and purchased a site for an office/medical/dental development. Successfully incorporating “build to suit” and conventional sales, in the final completion of the project, the facility operates today as Longmire Place and is currently built out.
Pursuing the build to suit market in the ensuing years, I was successful in securing other national tenants and built out the following projects for companies such as Dollar General and Grainger Supply.
And then there were apartments such as Rosewood Villas, a 60 unit 3 bedroom 2 bath project.
A 40,000 square foot multi-tenant strip/retail center constructed in 2005 and a remodel of an existing strip facility.
